"The teacher is knowledged in the field of music and piano and has a good teaching style for the students to easily follow and understand. The teacher took extra efforts and additional 1:1 for the students who were taking the theory and practical exams. This really paid off and helped all the students in the final score. Kudos to the teacher a job well done."

For my beginner students, I use the Music for Young Children® (MYC®) program, which is a fun and comprehensive way to build a solid foundation for a lifelong love of music. MYC® bridges the gap between theory and keyboard skills, giving children the tools they need to become successful musicians from the very beginning. Through MYC®, students are introduced to the language of music in an engaging and easy-to-understand way. I believe that music is not just about learning an instrument, but about cultivating a love and understanding of a beautiful language that will enrich their lives for years to come.
"The Music for Young Children® program has to be counted as the dominant force in the musical training of young children in Canada today. Many of the new students arriving each year in my studio are graduates of Music for Young Children®. They arrive superbly prepared and well-motivated for further study. MYC® teachers have found the right balance. They successfully blend the pleasure and joy of music-making with the rigour of a well-crafted pedagogical progression." (Marc Widner, Chief Examiner Emeritus, Royal Conservatory® Music Examinations) |
Upon completing the Music for Young Children® program, advanced students have the opportunity to continue their musical education in either the Classical or Contemporary idiom. This can be done through the Royal Conservatory of Music or the Conservatory of Canada, depending on the student's interests and goals. By offering a choice of idiom, students can pursue the style of music that speaks to them and stay motivated to continue their musical journey.
"Mrs. Esther's way of attracting the kids’ attention shows in her dedication and honesty in delivering the music lessons to all kids. The Studio is well equipped and all musical equipment is clean and in very good condition."
(Rafik Naim, parent of MYC's Moonbeams 3 & Level 2 students) "Both my kids started their musical journey at the early ages of five and six years old, with Esther Ng in the MYC program. Esther is a great music teacher and her passion and love of music really comes across to the kids. She knows how to connect with kids and teaches them that making music is fun. My kids have developed all their musical senses, including singing in solfege, sight reading, composing, playing piano and most of all, having fun! Thank you Esther, for being a part of their journey in music."
