What is Required?
- A piano or touch-sensitive keyboard is MANDATORY at home for practicing.
- Parent participation is MANDATORY. It provides stability and security for your child.
- Practice is essential to success. Students will have maximum success when at least 5 practices of 15 to 25 minutes occur per week for MYC student. Incentive will be provided in class. Your child will require your presence to maintain this routine. Homework has both keyboard practice material and theory exercises.
- MYC® is an excellent time for the parent and child to bond. Other children can be a distraction. Therefore, it is MYC® policy that no siblings can attend the MYC® class and cell phone usage is prohibited during class.
- Most of all, have fun and be enthusiastic!
- 24 hours notice is required for a missed class. A recording of the class, if notified, will be uploaded. There are no refunds for missed classes. The homework sheet is in the student portal.
- During inclement weather, an internet makeup class (via Muzie.Live) will be arranged.
- In the case of the teacher’s illness, the makeup class will be in March break or in June.
- The course starts in September and will last until the beginning of June. (35 lessons in addition to the recital).
- The studio follows public school holidays at Christmas and Spring Break.
- The non-refundable registration fee & the lesson fees are required to reserve the space. Cheques must be payable to your teacher and are due at registration OR E transfer of the first month (September payment) is due at registration.
- A student’s space is reserved for the FULL MYC® year! Lessons fee are non- refundable after July 31st.
- NSF Cheques: An Administration Fee of $20 will be charged with bounced payments. The payment must be replaced immediately upon notification. The studio reserves the right to cancel the registration or to revoke privileges until full payment is received.
- We want the children to learn music but more importantly to develop a love for music. We aim to keep in touch with you on a regular basis to monitor your child’s progress and to provide encouragement and support along the way.
